Il termine deriva dalla fusione della parola “camuffare” ed il vocabolo francese “maquillage”.
Dunque una vera e propria tecnica di trucco che riduce in modo importante l’impatto visivo di discromie cutanee.

In genere, una linea di prodotti per camouflage comprende un fondotinta coprente e correttori molto coprenti, tutti declinati nelle varie tonalità di colore da selezionare in base al fototipo individuale.
